TCEQ New Technology Implementation Grant
With an approved $8,436,734 in state support through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s New Technology Implementation Grants program*, the BGICO RNG plant demonstrates how landfill gas (LFG) can be transformed into a clean energy resource and serves as a scalable model for other operators.
*The NTIG program offers grants to assist in the implementation of new technologies to reduce emissions of pollutants from facilities and other stationary sources in Texas.
BGICO Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plant Project Description:
This project will capture and process methane-rich Landfill Gas (LFG) from the Texas Disposal Systems Landfill. The processed LFG be injected into the natural gas commercial pipeline system to provide fuel and methane for various industrial applications. The project will reduce LFG flaring and overall emissions of methane, carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other gases and compounds.
